Port Botany Resources Recovery Centre

This site is located on Military Road, Matraville, NSW. The facility can process up to 200,000 tonnes of Class 2 waste per annum, currently receiving 100,000 tonnes per annum. The facility also recovers cardboard, plastics and steel. Additional manual sorting is being introduced to increase the recovery rate at the facility.

Site layout

The facility is located on an area of 10,000 square metres. The Transfer Station building is 30 metres x 40 metres and 10 metres high. The waste is then loaded into 90 cubic metre walking floor trailers using a front end loader. The building can receive and unload two vehicles at a time with a turn around of 8 minutes from the time the vehicle enters the site to the time it drives out the gate.
