The Al Ruways site, operated by ADNOC Refining, processes over 922,000 barrels of crude oil and condensates per day, accounting for nearly 5% of the global production. In response to new hazardous waste regulations, Veolia has signed a landmark agreement to manage and recover the site’s waste.
Two advanced state-of-art facilities for optimized treatment
In partnership with Tadweer and Vision Invest, Veolia operates two hazardous waste treatment units that:
- Process 70,000 tons of industrial waste annually, scaling up to 165,000 tons
- Handle all types of waste: liquids, solids, sludge, and organic/inorganic matter
- Treat naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) from oil drilling activities
