Decarbonizing an industrial site in Golbey through biomass energy production

As part of the Green Valley Energy project, Veolia is supporting paper manufacturer Norske Skog in transforming its site by reducing its reliance on natural gas and producing low-carbon electricity and steam.

A biomass cogeneration unit for a more sustainable site

The Norske Skog Golbey site produces over 600,000 tons of newspaper per year. To meet growing energy needs and address gas price volatility, Veolia is implementing a biomass cogeneration unit that uses recycled wood and papermaking by-products to power the industrial site and supply the national grid.
