Veolia and the Canadian investment fund Fengate Capital Management Ltd. are cooperating for the construction of two biomass power plants in British Columbia, among North America's largest. Designed and operated by Veolia, the facilities are funded by Fengate Capital Management Ltd., together with international and Canadian banks. This new co-construction model, called AssetCo / OpCo, is based on the complementary expertise of the partners.

The alliance between Veolia and EPM, the leading public services company in Colombia, was sealed in June 2015 and is intended to lead to the establishment of an energy services company. The partnership will offer new energy efficiency solutions for municipalities and the industry in order to meet the growing demand for energy in Latin America, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Veolia is a European leader in the recycling and production of polypropylene (PP), used for manufacturing products out of plastic material. This recycled raw material is the focus of a strategic partnership with Philips, who aims to increase the amount of recycled plastic in its household appliances. Veolia comes in at the design stage of the products, in order to maximize the quantity of PP used and thus reduce their environmental footprint.

Prague has adopted an ultra-modern water management system known as SWiM, which enables Veolia to control remotely and continuously the status of the network and the quality of the water flowing through it. To strengthen the protection of infrastructures, the Group has offered training to municipal police officers to enable them to report leaks or damage to the infrastructure more effectively.

As part of a partnership - called Asset Co / OpCo - the financial investor PGGM and Veolia acquired the third largest heating network in the Netherlands in 2013. A long-term investment opportunity for this pension fund, which will benefit from the unique expertise of Veolia in heating network management and maintenance. With 64 local heating networks, it serves both individual and business customers, and covers a network of nearly 2,000 km.

In 2015, Sewerage and Waterboard, the authority in charge of water management and sanitation in New Orleans, renewed its contract with Veolia for 10 years. Under this renewal, 30% of the revenue generated by the partnership will now be reinvested in the local economy to support local businesses experiencing difficulties and develop a program to combat discrimination and socio-economic imbalances. This partnership helps to strengthen the resilience of public utilities in New Orleans, a city severely hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Veolia and Paysans de Rougeline are co-developing biogas heated greenhouses. The biogas generated by the natural fermentation of non-hazardous waste powers motors that produce electricity. An innovative cogeneration system recovers the heat produced when these motors are cooled. The captured heat is able to heat all the greenhouses located nearby.
- 8 motors each producing 7 MW of electricity
- Equivalent to 45,000 people’s consumption
- 4 hectares of greenhouses already built
- An additional 4 hectares by 2018
- 104,000 tomato plants planted by the end of 2015

Veolia and Restau'co, one of the largest catering networks in France, are teaming up for an innovative industrial partnership that is setting up local circular economy loops to recover organic waste. Once collected by Veolia, the food waste is transformed into high quality compost and fertilizer to provide a sustainable resource for local agriculture.

The Veolia Foundation supports the Créajeunes scheme – an entrepreneurship training and development program designed by the Adie (Association for the right to Economic Initiative). The scheme is aimed at young people under the age of 32 from neighborhoods located in sensitive areas, and for whom creating a business offers a means of professional integration. The Veolia Foundation helps to create sustainable jobs in areas affected by high unemployment.
