Asbestos

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral, renowned for its durability, high resistance to heat and insulating properties.

Asbestos waste can be stabilised (in a bonded matrix) or in fibre/dust form. Asbestos fibers are microscopic and are resistant to fire, most chemical reactions and breakdowns. These fibres can easily become airborne and inhaled which poses a significant health risk to humans.

Does Veolia accept asbestos waste?

Veolia holds Asbestos Removal Licences and has vast experience with a trained and competent team, applicable to friable and non-friable asbestos. We deliver end to end solutions for asbestos removal and abatement including identification, removal, transportation and disposal.

The asbestos is thoroughly wet, double wrapped in approved plastic, stored in a sealed container and carefully transported to prevent the release of dust, before being disposed at a lined landfill. The process is completed with strict adherence to the relevant legislation and EPA guidelines.
