Through the lens of Rethinking Sustainability, the videos explore the complex social and operational challenges Veolia addresses through the delivery of its tailored solutions for municipal, commercial and government clients across the health, utilities and education sectors.
Featured clients and projects include the University of the Sunshine Coast, NSW Health Illawarra-Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD), Seqwater, Hunter Water and Auckland Council.
Grant Winn, Executive General Manager - Refractories and Energy said both the University of the Sunshine Coast and the NSW Health ISLHD projects demonstrated Veolia’s capability to consider a client’s long-term needs and deliver a multi-faceted strategy for large-scale precincts targeting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
“Our role as a partner is to identify, implement and monitor a client’s energy performance to deliver tangible, long-term benefits, while also taking into consideration macro-environmental concerns that could impact their operations.”
Alex Lagny, Group General Manager, New Zealand, said Veolia’s partnership with Auckland Council is reshaping waste management in a region that had only recently transitioned from bags to bins.
“We are working closely with the Council to drive improvements and a better understanding of practices through data and insights. It’s an exciting space for us, as Veolia looks to expand its waste management capability in the country.”
Responsible for operating and maintaining more than 200 sites in Australia and New Zealand, the case studies depict the geographical diversity of Veolia’s operations, which span metropolitan, regional, rural and remote communities.
In particular, Veolia’s investment in the Pilbara region of Western Australia has delivered economic and employment opportunities for the community in which it operates. The success of Veolia’s 50/50 joint venture, North West Alliance, is profiled in the Rethinking Communities case study video which shares the benefits Veolia has provided by investing in local jobs and partnerships since the business was established in 2013.
